Ahhhh....Saturday!

I don't often blog about what's going on in my life, most who read here know anyway, but today I guess that is what I will do. I'm still studying the doctrine of Grace, reading the scriptures and writing down my understanding and hope to do some blogging about it soon. As the title of my blog says, 'Simplicity' is the key and it takes a lot of reading and thought to pare it down to its most simple form. Words are wonderful but so often there is an abundance of words and the truth of the matter is buried beneath them so I like digging for the golden nuggets of simple yet profound truth.

A week ago my husband had a really bad fall, but was able to get up and call me at work. I think actually he tripped over his cane (he doesn't really remember), but he cut his eye, bruised his ribs and cut between his ring and little finger almost to the bone. Thankfully we were able to get him into the dr.'s office here and she stitched him up with six stitches so we didn't have to take him to the emergency room. He was to have the stitches out yesterday, but it didn't appear to be healed thoroughly so they will be in until this next Wednesday. Bless him, he was truly disappointed as he isn't supposed to get that hand wet and that's hard. He told the dr. he really wanted the stitches out so that he could do the breakfast dishes. She just laughed, but he does do that set of dishes for me while I get ready for work. So it's been a tough week of his hurting ribs and trying to be careful not to break open the stitches, soon to be over, we hope.

As for myself, I have an ear condition that comes and goes, but when it is here I have what I call vertigo. Movement of the head causes dizziness and most often severe nausea and is such a royal pain. Usually it is triggered by a cold or allergies and sinus problems so I can take sinus meds and some anti-nausea medication too but the problem with that is I become more or less a zombie. Have you ever tried to work and think while you are a zombie? Let me tell you it is hard to do, but I managed to get through the work week. Thank you Lord! So here is is Saturday morning and it is back with a venegence but at least I can stay down on the couch in between doing some chores around the house. We are to be patient in adversity and trust the Lord for what he brings to us each day. We have hope and are truly blessed in knowing that we will be delivered from these bodies of death someday and will never again live under the curse of sin, sickness and danger. What a hope!

It's looking like it might rain, what a sweet blessing that would be from the Lord. It's spring again and the trees are budding, the columbines and tulips are coming up and the birds are back to the feeder. This is the day that the Lord hath made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.

  1. Oh Eileen, so sorry to hear of your husband's fall and your vertigo. I hope you both are feeling better soon. Dizzyness and nausea are just miserable to have. My mother takes a nausea medicine called Zofran, that works well, and doesn't make her feel wierd. Maybe you could try that.

    Praying for you!

  2. Thank you so much Carol. I will remember the name of the medication for nausea, maybe it will do the trick and I can take it and function well at the same time. :)

I'm feeling better today, hope it continues.

Thank you for the prayers, always needed!
